The Beginning

The real beginning was actually much longer ago, but that is another story for when there is more time. The Summer of 2006 we began our serious discussion of planning out how we saw God shaping our family. Adoption would most definitely be a part of that - but from where? We were intrigued by stories of little girls from China. A few months went by without any further discussion - adoption was for a little later we thought...Christmas 2006 would bring everything into a much clearer light. Third Day and Steven Curtis Chapman both released Christmas albums with songs about orphans and adoption. The Father truly used those to stir our hearts even more toward adoption. We also attended a FamilyLife Conference that Dec., at which we bought a Bible Study about Adoption. God began to use this Bible study and those songs to put an ache in our hearts for the little girl we now call Abigail.
It wasn't until April 2007 that we began the process with America World. Our paperwork was completed and sent to China in October 2007. Now, we just wait...PRAY and wait.
